«It Had Not Been a Year Yet»: Who Is the Soldier Who Died Yesterday

According to preliminary information, the soldier who died from a gunshot wound was private Samvel Sanoyan from the Tsovagyugh community in the Gegharkunik region, reports news.am. He had not yet completed a year of service in the army.

Samvel was drafted in July 2021, and prior to that, he studied at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia's College of Intermediate Professional Education as a construction engineer.

“He came from a smart, hardworking family involved in construction. Samvel was the third child in the family; he had two sisters and two brothers,” said a resident of Tsovagyugh in a conversation with NEWS.am.

It is worth noting that on April 28, at around 19:20, according to preliminary information, private Samvel Sedraki Sanoyan (born in 2002) sustained a gunshot wound from a fellow soldier in military unit N of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. He died on the way to the hospital.
