Barbie Doll Created for Queen Elizabeth II's 96th Birthday
In honor of Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee, toy manufacturer Mattel has created a Barbie doll. According to BBC, the doll will be released today, coinciding with the monarch's 96th birthday. The company states that it pays tribute to "visionary individuals who have had a remarkable influence and legacy."
The doll, dressed in an ivory gown with a blue ribbon, features details inspired by the Queen's past. It includes decorative elements reminiscent of items worn on her wedding day, as well as pink and blue ribbons modeled after those given by her father, George VI, and grandfather, George V, the company says.
