Iran Will Not Agree to the Presence of Non-Regional Naval Forces in the Region: Iranian Navy
The commander of Iran's naval forces, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, has called for non-regional naval forces to refrain from presence in the region, asserting that neither the region itself nor the host countries will be safer from their presence, reports Mehr news agency.
"Our message to non-regional and unfriendly countries is that there are enough forces in our region and there is no justification for their presence in the waters of this region," stated the Iranian Rear Admiral.
He further added that there would be no issue if non-regional countries visited the area for the purposes of visits and knowledge exchange. "However, if they wish to enter the security domain, we must say that today the Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow such a thing," he remarked.
