Russia's Response to Borrell's Comments on Military Solution in Ukraine

The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, should be immediately dismissed by EU countries following his remarks about a military solution in Ukraine, said State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, as reported by TASS.

“Borrell must be immediately dismissed by the EU countries. It is his duty to find a diplomatic solution to the problem,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Volodin, it was clear from the outset what role Washington and Brussels assigned. “Today the West openly declared its purpose, what they have been pursuing for years—supplying weapons to Ukraine and supporting Nazi ideology. The war until the last Ukrainian has become the official policy of EU and NATO countries,” emphasized the Speaker of the State Duma.

Following his visit to Ukraine on April 8-9, Borrell tweeted about the EU's full support for Ukraine, including arms supplies, and added that this war “must be won on the battlefield.” Thus, for the first time in modern history, a European official of such a level has openly advocated for a military solution rather than a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
