Kyiv Authorities Have Lost Their Last Chance to Maintain Ukraine as a State Within Current Borders: Sheremet
Deputy of the Crimean State Duma Mikhail Sheremet stated in an interview with RIA Novosti that the Kyiv authorities have lost their last opportunity to keep Ukraine as a state within its current borders.
“The time has irretrievably passed. Today, I see no opportunity for Ukraine to remain within its current borders, and I see no reason to negotiate with the Kyiv regime,” Sheremet said, currently part of a delegation on an official visit to Donbas.
According to him, negotiations must be held with Washington, which “unprofitably extends the conflict in Ukraine” and turns the country into a “burnt land.”
It should be recalled that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In his televised address, he stated that circumstances “require decisive and immediate actions from us, as the people’s republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance.” According to the Russian leader, the entire responsibility for the bloodshed will fall on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He urged Ukrainian soldiers not to follow the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their weapons, and go home.
