VIDEO: I Will Keep a Photo of Pashinyan for You to Answer Objectively and Honestly: Mamikonyan to Andreasian
Not being a lawyer, the last opinion published by the Venice Commission regarding the judges’ bill resembled more of a first-year law student’s coursework evaluation. It was evident that it was a poorly drafted bill, with numerous points, and they explicitly stated that it was not a new basis for incompatibility but rather a tool for judges to be wielded against them.
It was clearly noted that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) cannot record an individual judge's guilt within the logic of courts... This was stated by MP Hayk Mamikonyan from the ‘Honorary’ faction during a Q&A session with Justice Minister Karen Andreasian.
“Mr. Andreasian, when you introduced the bill, was its logic genuinely aimed at expecting a positive response, or was it merely to create the illusion of promised but unfulfilled reforms?” asked Mamikonyan.
Subsequently, the opposition MP showed a photo of Nikol Pashinyan from his phone screen: “Mr. Andreasian, considering your preferences, I can keep a photo of Nikol Pashinyan for you to answer objectively and honestly, as according to your interview, you can only be objective and honest in that case.”
