Smoking Banned in Closed and Open Public Catering Facilities from Today
Starting March 15, the provisions of the law on “Reducing and Preventing Health Damage Caused by the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Substitutes,” adopted by the National Assembly, come into effect. According to this law, smoking is prohibited in public catering facilities. This includes street restaurants, cafes, and other establishments.
For violators, the fine will be 50,000 drams, while for establishments, the fine will range from 150,000 to 200,000 drams. Some restrictions will gradually come into effect, allowing people time to prepare for them.
