Attempted Assassination Case Against Jalal Harutyunyan to be Closed: 'Zhoghovurd'

According to information from the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, the Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee is set to suspend the attempted assassination case against Jalal Harutyunyan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army.

For a year and a half, the pre-trial investigation body has been unable to substantiate who from Azerbaijan was aware of Jalal Harutyunyan’s location or the circumstances of his presence in the aforementioned vehicle, and who prepared for his murder. In other words, no accused has been identified in this criminal case.

It should be recalled that Jalal Harutyunyan was wounded at a combat position in October 2020 and was dismissed from his position as Minister of Defense and Commander of the Defense Army by the decree of the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, on October 27.
