What Zelensky Said in His Video Address
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics by Russia. He termed this decision a violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and initiated a summit of the Normandy Four, as well as meetings at the UN Security Council and the OSCE.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine reserves the right to individual and collective self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. "We and our state have no time for long lectures on history, so I will not delve into the past. I will speak about reality and the future. Ukraine stands behind me within its internationally recognized borders, and it will remain so regardless of any declarations and actions from the Russian Federation... We owe nothing to anyone. We will not give anything to anyone," Zelensky said in the video address.
