Some Media Reports on Ukraine Are Disinformation: Turkish Defense Minister
Reports from media outlets regarding military activity in Ukraine should be assessed with caution, as some of them contain disinformation. This opinion was expressed on Sunday by Turkey's National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, according to TASS.
“There is military activity observed there, which has certain consequences. There are some reports about it in the media that should be evaluated very carefully, as they relate to disinformation and fake news. In this regard, it is necessary to prevent a number of undesirable situations from arising,” Akar's words are quoted by the Sabah newspaper.
Furthermore, Akar emphasized that during the Munich Security Conference, Turkey commented on the situation regarding the status of straits under the Montreux Convention. “We have declared that the provisions of the convention are beneficial for all parties. We sincerely wish for the countries located along the Black Sea to live in security and comfort,” added the Turkish Minister of Defense.
