The Situation Around Ukraine Remains Extremely Serious: Scholz-Biden
The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, and the President of the United States, Joe Biden, held a phone conversation on Wednesday, during which they stated that the situation around Ukraine remains serious, with no significant withdrawal of Russian troops from the Ukrainian border.
This was reported to journalists by a representative of the German cabinet, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
It was noted that the leaders of the countries agreed that the situation in the region, considering the massive buildup of Russian forces in areas bordering Ukraine, should be assessed as extremely serious.
The leaders also discussed the issue of strengthening NATO's eastern flank military capabilities in case of possible Russian aggression, according to the White House.
