Lavrov and Abdollahian Speak
The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
It is noted that among other issues, the two foreign ministers also discussed the ‘3+3’ format, which serves as a regional consultative platform regarding the South Caucasus.
During the conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Lavrov welcomed Iran's hosting of the next ‘3+3’ meeting. He expressed hope that this conference would ensure the interests of regional countries and strengthen stability and security in the region.
The interlocutors also discussed the ongoing negotiations in Vienna regarding Iran's nuclear program.
