NATO 'Deceived' Russia by Promising Not to Expand Eastward, Says Putin
NATO 'deceived' Russia by promising not to expand eastward. This was stated by Putin during a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, as reported by TASS.
According to him, NATO made promises not to shift its infrastructure 'a single inch' eastward.
'Today we see where NATO is located - in Poland, Romania, the Baltic states. They said one thing and did another. As the people say, they 'deceived' us, simply put, they lied,' he said.
Putin also stated that the U.S. ignored the fundamental points of Russia's proposals regarding security guarantees in its response.
