VIDEO: Snowstorm Hits Greece

A snowstorm named 'Elpis' has brought heavy snowfall and blizzards to central regions of Greece, reports Greek Reporter. The island of Evia and the Pelion peninsula are blanketed in snow. Nearly all villages in the areas of Kymi and Aliveri are buried under snow.

The Evia police department has announced a ban on the movement of trucks heavier than 3.5 tons on the island's roads. Due to extreme weather conditions, many roads are blocked, isolating some villages from the outside world.
