New Changes in Liquid Gas Filling Stations
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that control over the liquid gas market will be strengthened in the near future. There is a new amendment regarding liquid gas filling stations. Starting June 1 of this year, liquid fuel will be sold in calibrated containers in Armenia. This means that sellers at retail points must not only have calibrated containers but also sell fuel through those containers upon the consumer's request. In other words, operators at filling stations are obligated to display information regarding the type of liquid gas.
According to the Ministry of Economy, these measures will reduce and eliminate cases of underfilling at liquid fuel retail points. Additionally, in the case of discrepancies, the supervisory authority will conduct checks at the business entity's location based on consumer complaints. If violations are found, penalties will be applied; liquid gas sellers may face fines of up to one million drams for any infractions.
