I Am Ashamed That We Have Taught Selcuk Bayraktar Here: New Scandal Involving Erdogan's Son-in-Law
The Swedish-American astrophysicist and space scientist, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a board member of the Institute for Fundamental Questions, Max Tegmark, commented in an interview with the German business newspaper Handelsblatt regarding the use of drones in Libya, Syria, and Nagorno-Karabakh, saying: 'I am ashamed that we have taught Selcuk Bayraktar here at MIT.'
In response, Bayraktar tweeted, stating: 'You should be ashamed for your genocide and massacres. We returned to our lands. We can only be proud of that.'
It is entirely logical that Bayraktar acknowledged Turkey's direct involvement, particularly as a leading actor, in the aggression against Artsakh in 2020. Turkey's involvement is a well-established fact that it does not deny. On the contrary, reminders at various levels prevent Aliyev from forgetting whom and how much he owes.
It is surprising that at MIT, despite providing excellent technical education, they seem to ignore subjects like history; otherwise, a good engineer like Selcuk Bayraktar would not be so limited in understanding history and would know where 'his lands' are. It is astonishing that Bayraktar blames the Swedish-American or anyone else for genocide and massacres.
