Djokovic Leaves Australia After Losing Court Case
The 20-time Grand Slam champion, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, has departed Australia. He was photographed at Melbourne Airport, accompanied by his coach Goran Ivanisevic.
Recall that on January 5, Djokovic arrived in Melbourne to participate in the Australian Open, which is set to begin on January 17. The Australian Border Force detained the tennis player at the airport and canceled his visa on the night of January 6 after questioning him.
Djokovic attempted to enter Australia unvaccinated, claiming a medical exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination. However, the border authorities deemed the provided evidence insufficient.
Djokovic's lawyers lost the case, and he was reportedly expelled from the country.
