Pentagon Accuses Russia of Seeking Pretext for Invasion of Ukraine
The Pentagon spokesperson, John Kirby, has stated that the Russian Federation is allegedly searching for a pretext to invade Ukraine, although no evidence has been presented. The information has been reported by RIA Novosti.
“Without going into too much detail, we have information that shows Russia is already actively working to create justification for a potential invasion of Ukraine,” Kirby said.
According to him, U.S. intelligence indicates that Russia has prepared an operational group to conduct operations under a different flag. The operation, according to the U.S. official, is intended to resemble an attack on their own or other Russian-speaking individuals in Ukraine, thereby serving as justification for the invasion.
