Lavrov on the Urgent Start of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Demarcation

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during a press conference dedicated to the outcomes of Russian diplomacy that Russia supports the urgent start of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation.

"This issue does not pertain to Nagorno-Karabakh and regional problems; it is a bilateral matter that we have been proposing to start working on for a year now," Lavrov was quoted by the TASS news agency.

According to him, Russia will convey Armenia's proposals about establishing a commission for border demarcation between the two countries to Azerbaijan.

"Yesterday, I spoke with my Armenian counterpart, who has new proposals; we will pass them on to Baku. We will see how to launch the commission as soon as possible," the diplomat added.
