Azerbaijani MP Makes Controversial Statement: Tatevik Hayrapetyan
Former MP Tatevik Hayrapetyan wrote: 'During yesterday's session, Azerbaijani Milli Majlis member Agil Abbasli made the following statement: 'Azerbaijani youth have fought in Karabakh, sacrificed their lives, and become martyrs. Why aren’t they now going to voluntarily work on the construction of Karabakh? They would go voluntarily, they would not even ask for money. Did they want money when they went to war, did they want money when they died? No, they wouldn’t want it now, when they go to build.' He intends to present a legislative initiative on this matter. I would like to point out that this has become a heated topic of discussion within Azerbaijani public circles, which are accusing Abbasli that his own son should be the first to go if he is making such proposals.'
