The Armenian-Turkish Conflict in the Caucasus Approaches Its Conclusion, Says Erdoğan's Spokesman
Armenia stands to gain economic and political benefits from the normalization of relations with Turkey. This was stated by İbrahim Kalın, the spokesperson for the Turkish President. “There is an absolutely different process currently underway in the South Caucasus, and the foundation on which that diaspora has built all its energy and arguments is on the brink of collapse. In other words, the conflict between Armenia and Turkey, or the Armenian-Turkish conflict in the Caucasus, is approaching its conclusion. With the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and the reintegration of Azerbaijan, a new chapter in history has opened,” Kalın said.
In this regard, according to the Turkish president's spokesperson, no other expectations exist, and Ankara and Yerevan are taking steps towards normalizing relations. He emphasized that for Armenia, which has a weak economy with no access to the sea and is under Russian sponsorship, the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations will present new economic and political opportunities.
