The First SMS to Be Auctioned
The British mobile operator Vodafone has decided to auction the world's first SMS. This was reported by TASS, citing the Daily Mail.
The article states that the message could sell for more than £150,000. An NFT token has been created for the auction, which features the text "Merry Christmas." This congratulatory message was sent during the Christmas holidays by Neil Papworth, an employee of Sema Group Telecoms (SMS service), to the phone of Vodafone's director Richard Jarvis.
