"I Have Lived My Life Honestly": Sona Shahgeldyan Responds to Arrest Warrant
For two days now, an arrest warrant has been issued against singer Sona Shahgeldyan. According to shamshyan.com, the warrant has been issued under Article 188 (Illegal Entrepreneurship) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
It should be noted that this article prescribes penalties ranging from a fine of five hundred to one thousand times the minimum wage, or imprisonment for one to three months, or a maximum of one year of deprivation of liberty, with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for one year.
Singer Sona Shahgeldyan made a post on Facebook addressing the rumors circulating in the media about the arrest warrant issued against her. She stated, “I don’t know which fool is spreading such things. I have lived my life honestly, but I will approach this issue differently now.”
She demands that the dissemination of such news about her must stop, while not outright denying the news of the arrest warrant itself. “Many do as they please, yet you're going after honest people. It’s shameful; fear God,” Shahgeldyan wrote.
