We have a casualty as a result of gunfire in close range: Abrahamyan
Member of the National Assembly from the "I Have Honor" faction Tigran Abrahamyan stated, "Amid the turbulent events of the last few days, the incident recorded at the combat outpost of the Artsakh Defense Army near Shushi has been pushed to the background. While on the day of the incident, the Defense Army reported that a soldier had received a fatal gunshot wound under 'still unclear circumstances,' yesterday the Investigative Committee clarified that the incident occurred due to a bullet fired by the adversary.
From what I understand from the available information, the examination has shown that the fire was opened from 5-7 meters away, which indicates that a diversionary operation took place. This area of the border is quite dangerous, the interposition area is small; nevertheless, we have a casualty as a result of gunfire that occurred in close range.
I have said on various occasions and I repeat today that regardless of the circumstances in which our servicemen perform their responsible duties under quite severe conditions at the front line, there must be a radical change in the approach to conducting combat duty. Time is working against us; this is not even up for discussion."
