Father of 2.5-Year-Old Child Storms ICU After Learning of Death: Clarification
Saint Astvatsamayr Medical Center has issued a clarification regarding a recently published news article on Shamshyan.com titled, "Tragic Incident at Saint Astvatsamayr Medical Center: 2-Year-Old Child Dies, Grandmother and Father Say, 'Instead of Good News, We Were Told the Child Died.'" The article is one-sided and does not reflect the reality of the situation.
On the evening of November 30, a 2.5-year-old boy passed away at the Saint Astvatsamayr Medical Center, having received treatment there numerous times in the past. The center had admitted him four days earlier in extremely critical condition, presenting with multiple accompanying illnesses, severe delays in physical and mental development, bilateral pneumonia, second-degree respiratory failure, and a state of immunodeficiency. He also suffered from a 40% weight deficit, shock syndrome, severe metabolic disturbances, and a large ulcer in the sacral area, a consequence of inadequate and improper care.
Only the child’s grandmother visited him during his hospitalization, maintaining daily communication with the department head and doctors. They repeatedly explained the severity and incurability of the child's conditions. The parents did not visit the child during the four days of his hospitalization.
Throughout his stay, the child received intensive treatment in the ICU, including antibacterial therapy, blood transfusions, oxygen therapy, and infusion therapy. Despite these efforts, it was impossible to stabilize his condition, and he passed away four days later.
Upon learning of the death, the father stormed into the ICU, exhibiting aggressive behavior and issuing threats. To ensure the safety of medical personnel and other patients, the police were called to the scene.
