Papikyan Has Phone Conversation with Shoigu
On November 16, Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan held a phone conversation with Russian Minister of Defense, Army General Sergey Shoigu.
During the conversation, the Armenian Minister of Defense presented the situation that emerged following the Azerbaijani armed forces' provocations in the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on November 16. Suren Papikyan emphasized that the intrusion of Azerbaijani military units into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is a gross violation of the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, and jeopardizes the entire negotiation process.
The Russian Minister of Defense expressed readiness to make every effort to stop the military operations, return prisoners of war, and resolve the situation.
