The Authorities Have Found a Clever Way to Torture Arush Arushanyan: "Hraparak"
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Despite the fact that political defendants and detainees have not yet been issued a verdict, and they are presumed innocent until legal court decisions are made, the authorities use numerous methods to torture and punish them before verdicts are released. These methods include not only imposing pre-trial detention for trivial charges but also the conditions of confinement, ranging from dry bedding and the lack of television to outright visitation bans and keeping them in the worst cells.
In the case of Arush Arushanyan, they have devised another clever method of torture: he is taken from Yerevan to Goris for every court session because the trial is taking place in Goris. Although they could conduct the trial in Yerevan and keep him in Goris prison, thereby avoiding the unnecessary travel between the two cities, they choose to transport him back and forth without caring about the expenses for gasoline and other costs. This is not only a means of tormenting a person but also indicates their desire not to leave him in the Goris prison, lest relatively decent prison conditions be provided for him there. Arush must be tortured because he has 'hurt' Nikol Pashinyan more than anyone else." More details in today’s issue of the newspaper.
