A man named Shahram Sadeghi has been executed in Iran after being found guilty of deliberately running over seven law enforcement officers during riots that took place in January 2026, according to reports from Tasnim.

The incident occurred on the evening of January 8 in Karaj, where Sadeghi allegedly drove his vehicle at high speed towards officers who were stationed at an intersection to maintain order. As a result, the seven officers sustained severe injuries to their heads, legs, arms, and eyes. It is reported that one of the victims was in a coma for three months following the incident.

After the hit-and-run, Sadeghi fled the scene and, with the help of other rioters, set his vehicle on fire. Following his arrest, he confessed to intentionally directing his car towards the police and continued forward after striking them.

The execution was carried out early Sunday morning.
