How Samvel Babayan's Party Presented Itself in Meghri: 'Iravunk'
'Iravunk' newspaper writes that according to information received by 'Iravunk', on October 17, 2021, during the elections for the Meghri community council, the requirements of the RA legislation were intentionally violated.
Specifically, according to verified reports received by us, the candidates of the 'Liberal' party founded by Samvel Babayan, who participated in the Meghri community council elections and overcame the passing threshold, are not members of this party, and there is no decision from the party's executive body regarding their admission to the party.
As a result, the 'Liberal' party has presented a list consisting of 100 percent non-partisan candidates instead of the allowable 30 percent non-partisan candidates in those elections.
According to information obtained by 'Iravunk', there is a petition addressed to the CEC regarding the aforementioned situation. The legal department of the 'Liberal' party confirmed 'Iravunk's' information, but did not provide further details.
