Fake Campaign: Zakharova on Reports of Russian Troop Buildup at Ukraine Border
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, referred to media reports regarding the buildup of Russian troops at the Ukrainian border as a "fake campaign." This was reported by TASS.
Zakharova pointed out that at least three publications—Politico, The Washington Post, and Foreign Policy—had published articles claiming that "Russia is supposedly amassing troops at the Ukrainian border." She stated, "This is a complete, fresh fake campaign in American media. No one has approached us; we are confident that no one from the Russian side has approached anyone representing our country. This is a classic genre when such publications are prepared, and then the official stance from the other side is not required," she said during a regular press briefing.
