Lavrov and Bayramov Discuss Situation at Armenian-Azerbaijani Border
The progress of the implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, has been discussed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Tuesday, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Clarifications of views have been carried out on issues related to the reduction of tension at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the unblocking of all transport and economic connections in the South Caucasus, and the creation of a favorable environment for regional cooperation," the statement noted.
Lavrov emphasized the importance of continuing efforts aimed at the comprehensive political-diplomatic settlement of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani military forces have invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in the area of Lake Sevan in Syunik province and in the border areas of Kut, Norabak, and Verin Shorzha villages in Gegharkunik province since May 12, seeking to establish a foothold there.
The Armenian military-political leadership regularly states that they are doing everything possible to resolve the issue peacefully.
