Changes in the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant

Alexander Fishman, a Russian national, has been appointed as the deputy director of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant. According to sources within the plant, since his appointment, the facility is effectively being managed by Russians, despite the fact that the main director is Indian. Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan was welcomed and accompanied by Fishman during his visit to the plant, and they had a private conversation.

It was noted a few days ago that Russian billionaire Roman Trotsenko has become the owner of 60% of the shares of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant, with his company 'Geopromining Gold' also owning the Sotk gold mine and the Agarak copper-molybdenum plant. He donated 25% of the 60% stake to the Armenian government.

Notably, Melikset Poghosyan, the governor of Syunik, who accompanied Papikyan to the plant, was not recognized by the plant’s management. Previously, we were informed that all governors had close interactions with the plant’s management, which contributed to solving regional issues. The Indian director publicly inquired who Meliksetyan was and learned from government officials that he is the governor.

Incidentally, during Papikyan’s visit to Kapan, a convoy of police cars was observed throughout the city, and while at the 'Civil Contract' office, the police had effectively besieged the building.
