Pashinyan's Proposal on Preventing Border Incidents
Armenia believes that mechanisms for investigating incidents in Artsakh should be strengthened, along with the oversight of the ceasefire and the cessation of all military operations. This was stated today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an online meeting of the Council of CIS Member States.
“Despite all political efforts and the opposing trilateral statement, people continue to die in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Therefore, I propose to enhance the trilateral mechanisms for incident investigation and the maintenance of the ceasefire regime,” he said.
It should be noted that on the evening of October 14, Azerbaijani armed forces attacked the New Shen settlement in the Martuni region of Artsakh. Tensions were also noted in the South village of the Askeran region. There are 6 wounded on the Armenian side. Russian peacekeepers have taken measures on the ground to stabilize the situation.
On October 9, a peaceful resident, Aram Tepeants, was killed by Azerbaijani sniper fire while carrying out agricultural work in the Martakert municipal area.
