US Announces Lifting of Non-Nuclear Sanctions Against Iran
On Friday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury removed Iranian organizations from the sanctions list that had been imposed by former President Donald Trump’s administration due to their alleged involvement in ballistic missile programs. This was reported by Al-Monitor.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury Department decided that the Mammut Industrial Group and its subsidiary, Mammut Diesel, are no longer blocked under Executive Order 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their supporters.
In September 2020, the Trump administration sanctioned Mammut Industrial Group and Mammut Diesel, accusing them of being producers and suppliers of dual-use military goods for Iran’s missile programs.
