Brother Tried to Take Blame for Sister's Traffic Accident: Sister Without a Driver's License Hit a Traffic Light
The Patrol Service of the Police of Armenia has clarified who was the driver of the Toyota vehicle with license plate 23 TT 001 at the intersection of Tbilisi Highway and Sarkavag Street on October 3.
According to shamshyan.com, a 24-year-old resident of Yerevan, Jivan Ohanyan, approached the arriving patrol officers on that day and claimed that he was the one driving the car. As a result of the accident, two residents of Yerevan, 29-year-old Nazeli Sahakyan and 34-year-old Diana Ohanyan, were taken to the hospital.
Hours later, the investigative department received operational information that the driver was not J. Ohanyan. After taking necessary measures, it was found out that the real driver was D. Ohanyan, who, according to the media, is the sister of J. Ohanyan and did not possess a driver's license. For this reason, she has also faced administrative liability, as the information received in the traffic accident investigations and administrative proceedings of the Yerevan patrol division confirmed and substantiated that she was the driver.
As previously reported from the scene, on October 3, around 16:30, the Toyota Camry with license plate 23 TT 001 had gone off the traffic lane under unknown circumstances at the intersection of Tbilisi Highway and Sarkavag Street, collided with the traffic light controlling the intersection, knocked it down, and then hit an external lighting pole, damaging it and a gas distribution pipe coming from the gas distribution installation, eventually overturning.
Following the accident, the driver was first helped by citizens and a doctor from the Kanakeravan village pharmacy in Kotayk Province, Dr. Lalayan, who was passing by at the time. They managed to pull the victim out of the vehicle, and the duty team of the Yerevan 1-03 ambulance service, which arrived promptly, provided initial medical aid on the spot and then transported the victim to the Mikhailian Institute of Surgery.
