Erdogan to Visit Russia
Preparations are underway for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Russia, where he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was confirmed to journalists by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
“A working visit by Turkish President Erdogan to the Russian Federation is being prepared,” said the Kremlin representative. According to him, the agenda of the negotiations will be very broad, starting from bilateral relations which have many dimensions, and the presidents always have something to discuss in this context.
“Of course, issues related to Syria and other regional conflicts will also be discussed,” Peskov stated.
Last week, Reuters reported, citing its sources, that Erdogan is expected to arrive in Sochi in September to discuss the situation in Syria, particularly in the Idlib region. At the end of August, Erdogan also announced that during his visit to Russia, he intends to discuss with Putin the details of the purchase of a second batch of S-400 missile defense systems.
