90% of Beds Occupied in COVID-19 Ward at Gyumri Medical Center
At the COVID-19 ward of the Gyumri Medical Center, there are currently 164 patients undergoing treatment, of whom 2 are in extremely serious condition, and 30 are in severe condition. According to Armen Khachatryan, the deputy director of the Gyumri Medical Center and head of the COVID-19 ward, 15 percent of the infected individuals are from the Shirak region, while there are also hospitalized patients from Aragatsotn, Tavush, and Lori regions.
“There are days when there are no available beds; we are 100% overloaded (the number of beds is 70). At the moment, the bed occupancy is 90%,” said Khachatryan.
