CSTO to Provide Assistance to Tajikistan in Case of Escalation at Afghan Borders, Says Stanislav Zas
The member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are in agreement and will provide assistance to Tajikistan in the event of an escalation at the border with Afghanistan. This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas during a press conference regarding the results of the joint meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council, Defense Ministers Council, and the Committee of Security Council Secretaries held today.
He emphasized that the situation in Afghanistan is a concern for the CSTO. “All member countries of the CSTO are unanimous and have reaffirmed their common position. In the event of an escalation of the situation on the southern borders of the CSTO, military and diplomatic assistance will be provided to Tajikistan,” Zas stated.
