North Macedonia's Deputy Ambassador Detained at Armenia's Request
North Macedonia's Deputy Head of Mission at the OSCE, Mile Milenkovski, has been detained at the request of Armenia. This was reported by TASS.
Milenkovski was arrested by Serbian law enforcement authorities on August 27 when he attempted to enter North Macedonia through the "Presevo" border checkpoint.
"Serbian authorities acted in accordance with a request from the Armenian side. Mile Milenkovski is under investigation in a case. The diplomat is a relative of Sasho Minaklov, the former head of North Macedonia's national counterintelligence, who is currently serving a sentence for abuse of official position. According to Armenian law enforcement data, in 2018, three diplomats from North Macedonia, led by Milenkovski, took out a representative of the former government from Armenia on a private jet, who is accused of embezzling large sums of money," TASS reports.
