What Decision Has Been Made Regarding State License Plates
The newspaper "Zhoghournal" reports that separate identified characters will no longer be allocated for registration license plates to state bodies. At least, that is what is defined by the decisions of the acting head of the police from October 14 and 16, 2019. This also pertains to the state license plates of the National Assembly, and according to information from "Zhoghurnal", deputies have already been instructed to hand over their state license plates to the police.
"Zhoghurnal" approached the information department of the RA police to understand why such an instruction was given to the deputies. In response, the police stated that this decision had long been established, which is why such an instruction was issued to the deputies. In the police's response, it is mentioned: "Before the expiration of the force of point 12 of annex 13 of the decision, according to existing legal regulations, separate characters of registration license plates for vehicles operated by state bodies were only meant to be allocated for service vehicles of those bodies. Therefore, it was proposed to the deputies of the RA National Assembly to present the license plates for their personal (non-service) vehicles to the administrative part of the Road Police instead of the license plates allocated for vehicles owned by the Republic of Armenia to be included in the list of free license plates."
