Calm in the Vicinity of Stepanakert: Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs

Reports circulating rapidly on the internet claiming that gunfire occurred in Stepanakert (Admiral Isakov, A. Hekimyan streets, and Azatamartikneri Avenue) or suggestions from other users that Azerbaijanis have entered Stepanakert are not true.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Situations Department, Hunan Tadevosyan, on his Facebook page.

“Dear compatriots, reports circulating rapidly on the internet claiming that there was gunfire in Stepanakert (Admiral Isakov, A. Hekimyan streets, and Azatamartikneri Avenue) or other users’ claims that Azerbaijanis have entered Stepanakert are not true. Gunfire is heard almost daily from the positions in Shushi, but it is calm in the capital Stepanakert, and there has been no exchange of gunfire or internal unrest. Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are on duty around the clock in the capital and surrounding areas. We urge residents not to trust unsubstantiated and false news and not to be alarmed,” he wrote.

Earlier, “Инфотека24” reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire near the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert.
