US Ambassador Visits the Border Area of Verin Shorzha

On July 26, the US Ambassador to Armenia, Lynn Tracy, accompanied by representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, visited the Gegharkunik region. The commander of the military grouping, Major General Araik Harutyunyan, presented the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to the ambassador, after which a visit was organized to the border area of Verin Shorzha.

Ambassador Tracy reaffirmed the US's concerns regarding incidents along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and emphasized that the US rejects the use of force in the process of demarcation. She also highlighted that the US, as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, remains deeply committed to working with all parties to achieve a long-term political solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. At the same time, according to Lynn Tracy, the US demands that the parties return as quickly as possible to negotiations at the level of the Minsk Group co-chairs.
