New Parliament Members Required to Pass Through Arched X-Ray Machines Upon Entering Hall: 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper reports that strict security measures have been implemented at the National Assembly just days before the new parliament is formed. Additional funding of around 130 million dram has also been allocated.

Specifically, arched X-ray machines have been installed near the hall entrances, and all members of parliament will now be required to pass through them when entering the hall. Until recently, such devices were only placed at the two entrances of the parliament, located at Baghramyan and Demirchyan.

After becoming the president of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan also installed such a device at the entrance to his office; now it’s time for the hall entrances. It remains to be seen what the authorities, and more specifically Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, are afraid of. Their parliamentary counterparts are no longer the conformist Prosperous Armenia and the Bright Armenia parties, but the radical 'Armenia' and 'I Have Honor' alliances, some members of which Pashinyan himself has imprisoned.
