12 Out of 23 Legal Claims Against Media Filed by Sukiasyan and Associated LLCs - Freedom of Speech Committee
In the second quarter of this year, there has been a significant increase in the number of legal claims against media outlets and journalists, stated Ashot Melikyan, the head of the Freedom of Speech Protection Committee, during a press conference at the Armenpress news agency.
Comparing statistical data, he noted, “In the first quarter, we recorded 10 new claims, whereas in the second quarter, there were 23. This should also be linked to the polarization against the media and the intolerance of political representatives from other camps.” A particularly high number of legal claims have been presented by political figures against the media.
