Will Badassian Replace the Head of the State Revenue Committee?
According to the publication, on July 15, we reported that the chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Edward Hovhannisyan, submitted his resignation. Moreover, Hovhannisyan learned about his dismissal that same morning, prior to the government meeting. This means it came as a surprise to him that he was to be relieved of his duties.
We were also told that Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized during a conversation that he was satisfied with the chairman's work and that his resignation was due to the need for another person in that position.
For several days, we have been trying to find out who the acting Prime Minister is hastily vacating the position for, without wanting to wait for a few days until the government is formed. Today we were informed that the position is opening up for Justice Minister Rustam Badassian. This appointment is already considered a settled issue in various circles, even though Edward Hovhannisyan has not yet been officially dismissed from his position.
The publication reminds that Badassian has previously worked at the State Revenue Committee, having served as the deputy chairman from 2018 to 2019.
