A Soldier of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Involved in Fatal Accident in Ararat Province
Today, on July 10, a major and tragic traffic accident occurred in Ararat Province. Around 02:10, an Opel vehicle driven by 27-year-old Ruben Grigoryan collided with a UAZ Pickup vehicle registered under the Ministry of Defense of Armenia on the 16th kilometer stretch of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway.
According to Shamshyan.com from the scene, the UAZ Pickup overturned as a result of the collision. Five individuals were transported to the ‘Erebuni’ medical center: 28-year-old Narek Kh., 23-year-old Grisha S., 30-year-old Hrach T., 26-year-old Seriozha S., and another individual.
One of the injured individuals died on the way, failing to regain consciousness. The site reports that, according to preliminary information, the Opel driver was at fault in the accident. He underwent a sobriety test, which revealed that he was under the influence. Since the overturned vehicle is registered under the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, the deceased and the injured, as well as the Opel driver, are all serving in the military from different units of the Ministry of Defense. The military police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia promptly arrived at the scene, led by the head of the Ararat and Vayots Dzor Military Police Department, Roland Oghikyan.
