There is Only One Option to Cancel the Elections: Hovik Agazaryan
Member of the "Civil Contract" party and MP Hovik Agazaryan spoke today in an interview with factor.am about the likelihood of canceling the election results.
"There is only one option for cancellation: if the Constitutional Court makes a political decision or if it makes such a decision under the pressure of Robert Kocharyan's criminal group; there are no other options. And I do not consider those to be very likely scenarios," he said.
When asked for clarification on whether he has doubts that the opposition has connections with some members of the Constitutional Court, Agazaryan replied: "Of course, some members have connections, because although some were changed after the revolution, the changed ones are all representatives of the judicial system from the past, and it cannot be excluded that in one way or another, certain connections might be in play. I consider this to be unlikely, just as a theoretical option, because there is no legal basis regarding the alleged falsification of the elections. Even in 43 to 45 precincts, recounts were carried out, but the fluctuations in votes did not significantly affect the results, and the difference in unverified votes was not substantial. There was a precinct that favored us, and there was a precinct where the recount favored them, which was mainly due to some cases of negligence in the committees' results. There were instances where some ballots were folded, and the committee declared those 40 votes invalid. But even then, when they were opened, there were more votes in our favor than for all the others."
