VIDEO: Robert Kocharyan Slams Pashinyan and the President
A video has circulated online where the second President of Armenia and leader of the ‘Armenia’ alliance, Robert Kocharyan, discusses a report that was to be presented to the board of trustees of the Armenia All-Armenian Fund but has not been submitted, criticizing the Minister of Finance of Armenia.
It becomes clear from the video that the President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, and Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also participated in the online discussion. Kocharyan emphasizes that the executive administration of the fund is obligated to provide a report to the board of trustees.
“As the Minister of Finance, you have carried out some functions while being accountable to the budget and the parliament. We have our reporting procedures. You cannot now present where this money has been spent. You should find yourself in the position of a member of the board of trustees. You are obliged to provide a report, and now you are unable to do so. We suggest a simple thing: let’s formalize it as a loan and close the topic,” states Robert Kocharyan.
He adds that the fund has been operating since 1992 and has never been in such a situation: “This is an organization that was established before your time. We did everything to save this organization. The government views the fund as a supplementary pocket for the government, which it is not.”
During his speech, attempts were made to intervene by Pashinyan and Sarkissian; however, Kocharyan wouldn’t allow it, saying, “Just a moment, I have not finished yet.”
