Levon Aronian to Represent Armenia in World Cup
Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will participate in the FIDE World Cup, representing Armenia. This information was reported by ArmSport.am.
In addition to Aronian, Armenia will have four more participants in the World Cup: Haik M. Martirosyan, Shant Sarksyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, and Gabriel Sargsyan.
The tournament will take place in Sochi from July 10 to August 8, with a prize fund of $1,892,500. Chess players who reach the finals of the World Cup will earn a spot in the Candidates Tournament for the world championship.
