Helicopter Transporting Ballot Boxes Crashes in Iran: Casualties Reported
A helicopter transporting ballot boxes from polling stations has crashed in Iran during presidential elections. As a result, one person has died. This was announced on June 19 by the governor of Khuzestan province, Suleiman Dashtaki, where the incident occurred, reports Izvestia.
"One of the passengers, who was reportedly a law enforcement officer overseeing the ballot boxes, has died, while another 11 individuals have been injured," the governor told IRNA. He added that "all the injured have been taken to the hospital, but some of their conditions are critical." The politician also mentioned that the crash likely occurred due to a drop in engine pressure, leading to an emergency landing.
